The Role of a Student Assistance Counselor
Student Assistance Counselors are Master's level counselors with advanced training in the field of substance use and mental health. SACs coordinate and oversee in-school assessment, crisis intervention, and are available for confidential counseling and referral services to any student who may be experiencing personal, family, and/or peer difficulties. The ultimate goal of the SAC is to empower students to assist in the development and maintenance of a positive school climate.
